Chadasha in Haiti

Heartbeat of Haiti

Millions of children around the world are born with heart defects. Unfortunately, there is little hope for the survival of these children in third world countries such as Haiti. For this reason, Chadasha has partnered with the International Childrens Heart Foundation to establish the PEDIATRIC CARDIAC CENTER OF EXCELLENCE in Jimani, DR to provide lifesaving heart surgeries for these children. At this point, surgeries are being performed in bigger cities in the DR while the hospital at Jimani is being equipped to host the heart surgeries.

By partnering with the International Children’s Heart Foundation ("ICHF”), a not-for-profit U.S.-based medical charity committed to serving the children of the world with heart disease, Chadasha will provide life saving surgery and education to the local health care providers so that they can eventually provide this care independently. IHCF has been to 24 countries and performed more than 4,400 operations over the past 18 years. Chadasha has been asked to develop a plan for helping 400 Haitian children over a five-year period. Haitian children with heart defects are brought to the Chadasha organization from hospitals and areas all over Haiti so that we can attempt to save their lives with these desperately needed surgeries.
